Commentful, end of another tale
April 14, 2007, 7:07 pm
I built and deployed Commentful July last year. It has done well since, I am happy for the fact that it has served its users well.
Commentful was acquired by Bloggy Network this January and they just rebuilt and released BlogFlux Commentful with added features and functionalities. Kudos !
Unfortunately, I donot have any statistics from 2006. This year Jan 2007 to March 2007, Commentful.com served 8853009 requests. Yes, 8.8 million requests. I am surprised myself by Commentful's performance, despite its size (here's a secret. The Commentful software was roughly above 100KB).
I love you Commentful. And I honestly miss you ;(

Hangman's hill, Epping Forest - Scary !
November 7, 2006, 9:36 pm
Epping Forest, South East England is a an ancient forest formed after the last ice age, approx. 8000 BC (Wikipedia).
Nov 6th, night, around 2 AM, me and a two of my friends drove to the Epping Forest. Its famous for ghost sightings and paranormal activities. A lot of killings have happened and a lot of dead bodies have been buried in this forest. The roads a really good and there are no street lights at all. When you enter the forest premises, instantly everything goes dark and you can feel terror creeping into you slowly, well I was very scared! The temperature was around 3-5 degree C, very cold. We roamed around the forest in the car, hoping to encounter something paranormal.
There is one huge church in the center of the forest and a cemetry around it and trust me, it scares the hell out of you! And yesterdays thick fog and moonlight gave the whole place a morbid effect, just like in the movies. I was breathless
We went further deep and there is this small hill called the "Hangman's hill". Its said that convicts / criminals used to be hung here. Also, popular-legend says that if you stop your car on the hill, turn the engine off and put the gears into neutral, the car would be pulled uphill. We decided to try it out and IT WORKED! We were so freaked out and scared, it was like the car was being pushed up and sitting at the back, I could feel the force! I am sure the car was being pulled uphill at atleast 3-5 miles/hour. We were absolutely baffed and so freaked out that we got the hell out of the hill and to make things worse, we saw a black furry cat at a farmhouse's fence, looking at us. That was it, we flee for our lives, only felt relieved when we were back on the A406 highway, back home.
I've always been highly curious watching all those ghost buster shows on the TV, but this was an amazing experience.
I was reocodring everything on my camera through out, hoping to find something. Back home, I thouroughly checked the videos, nothing unusual or unnatural unfortunately.

Me
June 10, 2006, 2:35 pm
Its Web 2.0, Tags, Folksonomies, Ajax, thats what everyone's talking about! Web 2.0 sites are eye candie, I am always amazed by their slick and crispy appearance. But what all of these Web 2.0 services do I use? hm
> Flickr - occassionaly upload photos
> Digg - news
> thats all !
I can't think of anything else that I regularly use. I don't do any social bookmarking, I don't use any mashed up maps, I don't use tagging (except on flickr), I don't have a 'homepage' like netvibes (I'm a big fan of about:blank), I don't use any feedreaders and I am rarely subscribed to any feeds and I don't smoke and I don't drink,
